Twisted Acres Farms is owned and operated by Stephen and Lola Carter. They met in 2012 when Stephen hired Lola to train his German Shepherd, Heinrich. Stephen and Lola were married on Halloween 2014 and had their first child earlier in that same year. Lola is a proven Dog Trainer who is excited to now be showing their Goat herd as well as making Goat's Milk products to sell. Stephen is a combat wounded Veteran who loves to work on the farm and appreciates the quiet and calm environment it affords.
As they grew their family, it came to light that their young son had a milk allergy and needed to be raised on goats milk, so naturally, the family bought their own dairy goat to have their own source of milk. Their love for goats grew and their herd expanded to over 30 goats in two years! In an effort to become sustainable they began to make products such as their famous Caramels. The results have been overwhelming and they are expanding their market! Currently, the candy is sold in three states at retail locations, and ships all over the country and even to Canada.
Twisted Acres has been in business since May 2016, our goats are fed a natural diet and kept on lush pasture with plenty of room. The milk barn we use is very clean and our kitchen area is cleaned professionally once a week. Each and every piece of candy is hand cut and wrapped. The boxes are weighed instead of counted due to the size differences in each piece of candy.
We are always happy to have visitors to the farm and would be glad to schedule you guys for a tour any time. The best time to visit is usually February or March when we have lots of little baby goats running around! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask!
